Favorite Denim (And Four Tips to Pick Yours!)

Hi babes!

Happy Saturday – I’m so happy that the weekend is finally here! Logan and I took a mini weekend trip over to STL to visit my family and watch my baby brother play in his last high school football game. 🙁 I can’t believe that he is experiencing all of these senior year “lasts” already! Today, I’m taking him around town to get some senior photos for him with all of the gorgeous trees and tomorrow Logan and I are attending a hospital foundation fundraiser. What are your weekend plans – doing anything exciting?

Today, I’m super excited to be sharing my favorite denim with you all. When it comes to picking out jeans, I’m super picky. From the blend of material to the fit, I put a lot of thought into which jeans I’ll pick. Below, I’m sharing the four things that I take into consideration when picking out jeans as well as my go-to brands and my current favorite jeans that you can always catch me wearing!

Four Tips for Picking the Perfect Jeans

When you’re going to buy a staple, like jeans should be, I encourage you to definitely put some thought into your purchase. Jeans should LAST, and basic fits will never go out of style.

  1. You Get What You Pay For – Listen. I’m all for a good dupe and a great sale. There are definitely hot potato trends that I’m 100% okay with paying for quantity > quality. But my denim pieces are not one of them. When it comes to buying jeans, I want them to last for years and hundreds of wears without having them lose their shape, so I consider my jeans an investment. However, I have found a few pairs that come in at a lower price, especially when I can hit up a sale.
  2. Pay Attention to the Blend – My best tip for buying jeans online – pay attention to the blend of denim! This is going to tell you just about everything you need to know about the type of jeans you’re going to get. The material blend is going to tell you if your denim will be a lighter, stretchy material or if it is going to be a stiffer fit. You want to find the perfect blend for what you want, but I’d suggest looking for more than a 2% blend
  3. Find the Extra Perks – Yup. Your denim can come with added perks. Places like Nordstrom and Madewell offer hemming services, which is amazing for those of us coming in at a shorter than average height. Take advantage of these so the length of your jeans hits at the right place on your ankle to prevent that bunch that happens
  4. Know Your Sizes – This is key when shopping both online and in person (saves soooo much time!) When you are looking at a place that offers hemming services, the leg length isn’t nearly as important as your waist and hip sizes since you’ll be able to hem them for free, so prioritize sizes as needed!
